EVENT PLANNING 101: If you have the chance to work with Nitro Circus, do it.
I knew next to nothing about motorsports when I was asked to plan a ‘UTV Jamboree.’ After some research I learned that that kind of event wouldn’t exactly work for my client so I dug in deeper, partnered with some experts from Edge Powersports and came up with a plan. We shot for the stars to create a one-of-a-kind event. We knew if we wanted this event to be successful, we would need to go BIG. And BIG we did. Even the promotion of the event meant riding a motorcycle through a hotel and casino.
We planned trail rides covering the most scenic trails in the southwest area, hosted endurocross races for beginner to pros – with the purses large enough to bring even international pro riders and partnered with Nitro Circus to put on a “Beyond Pro” exhibition race which featured freestyle motocross tricks during the race. Throw in some athlete meet and greets, VIP parties and a Guinness Book of World Record jump and you have one hell of a successful weekend.
