THIN AIR INNOVATION FESTIVAL

EVENT PLANNING 101: If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.

Forbes Magazine said “Thin Air Innovation Festival Is Sheer Genius”

Like most resort towns, Park City, Utah struggles with how to bring tourists to town during the shoulder season (the travel time between the end of the ski season and summer). So the Park City Chamber of Commerce partnered with local businesses to create The Thin Air Innovation Festival. Thin Air was a wrap-around event designed to attract small to medium-sized business groups. The three-day event began with a huge opening night and was topped off with a concert on Main Street concert. The middle was filled with over 50 speakers in breakout sessions from a variety of industries, social hours and entertainment and experiences that highlighted all that Park City has to offer.

This was an all hands on deck event. We secured speakers, planned their travel and lodging, selected and transformed venues, booked entertainment, coordinated activities around town, sent invitations, determined the program, handled guest check-in and on and on.

Top executives from Nordstrom, ESRI, Strava, Vail Resorts, SkullCandy, Red Bull, Pluralsight, US Army Special Forces, Forbes, Ocearch, Ernst & Young, Red Eagle Ventures, Cotopaxi, Avi-on Labs, US Olympians, AirBnB, FanX, Goldman Sachs, USSA, Cirque du Soleil, Intermountain Healthcare, BoA, Salesforce, Emmy-winning television director and producer, and Jane Goodall herself were among the speakers.

Not only did Thin Air bring visitors to town, it allowed small businesses an opportunity they simply could not afford to do on their own.
