EVENT PLANNING 101: Look to non-traditional venues to host your event.
Degreed is a lifelong learning platform that individuals and organizations use to access learning content, build skills, and certify their expertise. They have over 400 employees in six offices worldwide. They come together annually for an event called The Degreed Summit. It is a week-long, action-packed event that consists of breakout team sessions, bonding dinners, and a workshop with the entire group. We were tasked, of course, with making sure all the events were unique, fun, and memorable!
Accordingly, we chose to use a variety of spaces to host each portion of the event. Wiseguys Comedy Club acted as the main venue and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The venue was ideal because it is naturally laid out with classroom-style seating and has an audio/visual system for host speakers and presentations. Plus, they handled all of our food and beverage needs in-house. We also used a small auditorium in a shared work space for breakout sessions and an old train station, converted into event space, for the final night’s festivities. Speaking of festivities, a Degreed Summit wouldn’t be complete without a celebration.
Bring on the food, drinks, karaoke, photo booth, casino games, virtual reality, and giveaways!
